Virtually every Lexington client chooses to pay a flat, monthly fee instead of paying hourly or by-the-action (two other ways attorneys sometimes charge.) Paying the flat monthly rate should ALWAYS be more cost-effective because Per-Action billing can run up a large bill very quickly, as can hourly rates. So, if you're like most other clients, all you have to worry about is one, flat monthly fee - no matter how much work we do on your behalf in a given month. End of story. At the same time, Lexington works to make sure that the flat monthly fee never ends up being MORE than you would've paid if you had paid by-the-hour or by-the-action. In fact, Lexington has created a system that monitors all the actions taking place on your case every month and applies a per-action amount to each piece of work completed (these amounts, listed below, are loosely based on how long it takes to complete the action and who will be doing that work.)
Right before your billing date, Lexington checks to make sure that the work that has been done that month is the same or greater than what you would've owed if your case had been billed on a per-action basis since the beginning of your time as a client.
If you're like the vast majority of clients, the per-action work on your case will be far greater than your flat monthly payments. But, for example, if your case were to linger for a few months without contact from you or without you sending current credit reports, Lexington might find it hard to continue at the usual pace in your case. (If that happens, you can count on getting a stack of calls or voicemails from Lexington attorneys and/or paralegals.) At some point, though, since work had slowed, your flat monthly payments might start catching up with the value of the per-action items that had been done on your case since you first began. And, eventually, a day might come when your flat, monthly payment was MORE than all the work that had been done on your case.
If that were to ever happen, your billing would stop until such time as the per-action casework exceeded the amount you would pay as a flat, monthly payment. In this way, Lexington makes sure the flat, monthly clients always get the best deal. AND, it's also a way to ensure that you are NEVER paying fees in advance of service. Lexington always does the work first, then gets paid for it.
None of this means that you will ever have to pay for the per-action work. If you agreed to a flat, monthly fee, that is all you will pay. Also, even of you stopped your casework after a year, and a bunch of excess per-action work had been done on your account - and tons of extra value has been created for you on your case - you STILL won't pay more than the last flat, monthly fee and you STILL won't owe Lexington any more money.
However, we post our Per-Action rates here for reference purposes. Again, if you have selected our flat, monthly fee, and not specifically asked your paralegal or attorney to change your case to a Pay-Per-Action basis, you will not ever be responsible for paying fees as noted below.

2 Actions take place during every month of a client retainer.
Again, most clients retain a Lexington Law Firm under the flat, monthly retainer, so these Per-Action charges will not be billed to you unless you have specifically requested paying on a per-action basis.
