Privacy Rights, Medical Bills and Credit Scores

When it comes to your personal privacy, it’s not open season. Privacy is something that many Americans are concerned about today, for obvious reasons. Government agencies are spying on us through our cell phone records. Financial services companies are looking at our credit reports, sometimes with permission that we didn’t even know that we gave.

Everyone’s not entitled to know everything about you just because wanna know. And that’s especially true when you get sick. Unfortunately when you get sick, you’re not only having to pay for that with your health, but you’re paying for it with your money. And iterate that for a little while, and your credit report comes into play. That means even when you recover, you may be paying the price for seven years. Especially if one of your medical creditors unexpectedly sends something out for collections while you thought they were working it out with your insurance company.
