Credit repair regulation

Not all credit repair organizations are created equal and some of the other guys try to cut corners. Lexington Law abides by the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA).

This Act, prohibits untrue or misleading behavior and requires certain affirmative disclosures when offering credit repair services. The Act bars advance payment, requires that credit repair contracts be in writing, and gives consumers certain contract cancellation rights. Stay away from any company that does not live up to these standards.

Other important laws that govern the consumer credit industry include the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). We use our knowledge of these laws to help our clients throughout the credit repair process.
