Understanding your credit situation is personal. Every journey is different, and every challenge is unique. That’s why we recently surveyed our members to learn more about where they are in their credit journey and what matters most to them.
What we discovered reinforced what we’ve always believed: people want real solutions, honest help, and the tools to take control of their financial future.
Where People Are Starting From
When we asked members about their current credit situation, the responses painted a clear picture of the challenges many Americans face with their credit.
Nearly two-thirds of respondents are actively working to improve their credit. The data showed that 31.7% of members know their credit score is low and want to fix it, while another 31.7% have specific negative items they want removed from their reports. Together, that’s over 63% of people who are ready to take action and improve their credit standing.
What surprised us most was that 8.65% of respondents had no idea what their credit score was. In today’s financial landscape, your credit score impacts everything from renting an apartment to securing a loan, yet nearly one in ten people we surveyed were navigating their financial lives without this crucial information.
What Our Members Are Looking For
When we asked what products and services interest them most, the answer was overwhelming: 73.2% want credit repair services. This wasn’t just the most popular option—it dominated the conversation. Seven out of ten members told us that addressing inaccurate, unfair, or unverified negative items on their credit reports is their top priority.
But the story doesn’t end there. Members are also thinking strategically about their entire credit ecosystem: credit score monitoring (26.8%), credit building tools (25.77%), identity theft protection (24.74%), and debt consolidation (23.71%) all showed strong interest, reflecting the multifaceted approach people are taking toward their financial health.
What This Tells Us
These survey results reinforce what we see every day at Lexington Law: people are ready to take control of their credit, but they need the right support and resources to do it effectively. The fact that nearly two-thirds of respondents are actively working to improve their credit situation shows determination and hope. These aren’t people who have given up on their financial future—they’re people who are ready to fight for it.
The strong interest in credit repair services tells us that people understand the value of having experienced professionals in their corner. Credit laws are complex, and disputing inaccurate items requires knowledge of consumer rights, attention to detail, and persistence.
